Music and lyrics - star 3/5- A 80's pop singer while trying get again into the current music market, plans to make a very good song. He searches for lyrics of the song but doesn't get satisfied with the ones he get. As he is practicing the piano, his house keeper (Drew Barrymore) just simply lets out two lines to fit in the piano music. He gets impressed and presses her to write the lyrics for his song. Then they slowly they fall in love, then fall in fight and follows many things. The movie is okay, songs are good also, Drew Barrymore is super cute.

Fracture - star 3/5 - Took this one for Anthony Hopkins. Its about a murder mystery. Anthony Hopkins kills his wife for infidelity and intelligently manipulates to win the case. The hero desperately works to prove the truth but Hopkins being very cunning corners hero to the level of losing his job. Good acting by both of them.

nacho libre - star 2/5 - Its a comedy done by Jack Black. He is a priest in a monastery and tries to become a wrestling champion. The orphanage in the monastery needs money to feed kids, so without the knowledge of superiors he goes to wrestling competitions where they pay to get whack up in the ring. Soon his superiors find out his outings and throws him out of the monastery. But still the orphans support him in the sport and he struggles to fight it out.

Sweeney todd - star 2/5 - Had some expectation on this movie due to Johnny depp, but got frustrated. The movie is a gory musical. Even though the acting of Johnny depp, direction, settings are very good, the too much gore makes the movie dark.

Ratatouille - star 3/5 - Its an animation movie. A rat likes quality food, tries to learn cooking. But his father discourages him and asks him to be like other rats. Our hero rat follows his heart, gets out of his rat community, goes to the city. Fortunately he meets a boy who after loosing his mother desperately searches for a job. They work together and find cooking job in a restaurant. Our hero sits on top of the boy's head who covers it with the chefs cap and instructs him to do the recipes. The restaurant becomes very famous because of the high quality tasty cooking. The story then twists and ends in a nice way.

Little miss sunshine - star 3/5 - Its a drama with a comedy touch. Story about an average American family. Evey body are a different peculiar character of their own. The Dad is a motivational speaker and always speaks of never giving up, boosting moral and every thing but looses in a lot of things. Son is a crack pot who aims to join air force and doesn't talk much. Grand pa is a playboy, reading porn and talking about it to his grand children. Mum is the only sanely character who runs the family wisely and pulls the strings together. Last character is our little miss sunshine, she is about 10 years old, fat and plumpy trying to get into fashion modeling. Actually the whole story revolves around how the family struggles in taking our little heroine to a fashion competition. In doing so, some has to sacrifices some of their things and some has to defend for their family. At the end you'll definitely laugh, its very funny.

Dreamgirls - star 3/5 - Three friends to get a career in pop singing, try their best in every way. In one of the competitions, a music company manager sees them and tries to make some business out of them. Since they got real talents they soon become stars but before they could stand in their peak, misunderstand breaks one girl apart from the rest. The movie has a lot of good songs, jazzy types. Definitely see it in your boring times, its a very good time pass.

Eternal Sunshine of the spotless mind - stars 3/5- Don't know how Jim Carrey acted in this some what serious kind of movie. If we have an instrument to erase only a particular person or thing away from our memory leaving every thing else intact, what would happen?!!! Jim Carrey finds out that his girl friend out of a small fight, breaks up with him and erases all her memory of him. He gets angry and goes to the same doctor so erase all his memory of her. But during the erasing process which is done after he becomes unconscious, his subconscious mind doesn't let go of her and he tried to come back to conscious. Since he couldn't he starts to hide her memory in his own brian among other memories. I'm sure you are confused by now. see the movie, you'll know what i'm talking about.

300 - star 3/5 - Seldom i watch gory bloody movies, but in this movie they have take it in a faded film colour to reduce the effect of gore. The movie is good. Fighting scenes and bravery of the Spartans are shown strongly.

Taare Zaame Par - star 5/5 - The story is around a dyslexic kid, his struggles to cope up with the difficult normal world. Amazing direction, hats off to Amir Khan. The movie will definitely move you to tears, but no sentimental scenes or the usual bollywood exajurations are there. Songs are also nice.

Om Shanti Om - star 5/5 - From the start to the end you will laugh. Even though I understand little Hindi, this movie is really funny. Sharuk khan is a good actor and Deepika padokone is very beautiful. The story is a good masala but very entertaining.

Death note (Japanese) - stars 5/5 - The Death God drops a note book and whoever picks it up becomes the owner of it. The death God will appear to him and explain the rules of owning the book. The beauty of the book is that when you think of someone and write that person's name in that book, he/she will die within 30sec. You can even write the cause of death and the person will die out of the same cause, but there are a lot of rules in writing this which the death god will explain. Unfortunately the book falls in the hands of a very intelligent lawyer, who thinks that crime on earth should be abolished completely even at the cost of human lives. So he starts killing all criminals and threatens the world by the name "kira" who will restore good on earth. The hero "L" , is again a super intelligent guy, he makes his moves superbly to track "kira" down. The story is very thrilling, gripping and makes you wonder what will be the next move of "L" and "Kira". Hats off of the story writer, Japanese are really super intelligent. The character of "L" is an interestingly peculiar and funny one. And the imagination of animating a Death God is also nice.

Death note 2: the last name (Japanese)- stars 5/5 - If you saw the first part, you won't wait to see this because the story ends half way in the first part. Here, to complicate things for "L" two Death God appears. The second death note goes to a girl, Misa. Kira and Misa work together in their business of correcting the world. Finally L risks his life to prove things black and white. The movie is kind a philosophical also. The way story is written without leave loop holes should be appreciated.

L: change the world (Japanese)- stars 4/5 - This one is a spin off to the previous parts. L solves another case in this. But after seeing the peculiar character of L in the previous parts, this one has some funny and interesting twists. The action sequence at the end doesn't fit L though. The movie is okay, but not to the level of first two parts.

The Pursuit of happiness - stars 5/5 - Really good movie. Its a real story about Christopher Paul Gardner ( link from wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Gardner - a self-made millionaire, entrepreneur, motivational speaker and philanthropist who, during the early 1980s, struggled with homelessness while raising his toddler son, Christopher, Jr ).
Will smith does it very well. Persistence, struggle and inner strength are shown without much exajuration.

American Gangster - stars 4/5 - This one is about how drug trafficking ruined so many lives during world war. Densel Washington, has acted very well as a tight headed ruthless gangster and Russell crowe as an super honest police officer. The last part of Densel giving up to Crowe is nice.

Phone booth - stars 3/5 - The whole film is taken in a phone booth. The hero receives a phone call at a public phone booth and thats it, he can't hang up the phone neither can he stop talking to the caller because if he does he is dead. Though the movie starts with a slow phase, it becomes gradually gripping and thrilling and ends in a thrashing way.

Letters from Iowa Jima - stars 4/5 - About real incidents happened during world war II. This film tells the Japanese side of the story of what happened when Americans invaded the island of Iowa Jima. The film was taken from the letters Americans found at the empty caves of Iowa Jima. The bravery of Japanese and how they fought the loosing battle keeping their loyalty to the nation is shown very honestly even though its an American made film.

Flags of our fathers - star 4/5 - This part tells the American side of the story when they invaded Iowa Jima. A picture of a few American soldiers rising up a flag in Iowa Jima, gets published in the papers of America to give a boost to the war hit American people. The American military uses this opportunity and pulls out some soldiers at random to go around America and collect funds for the war, saying that they are the ones in the picture. The movie nicely captures the futility of a war and how truth gets swallowed up in it.

After that saw a lot, will slowly write on them, to begin with:

The Queen - stars 4/5 - When Princess Diana dies, Queen Elizabeth who doesn't likes that much of Diana's social activities refuses to give her a royal funeral. Though public grieves over Diana's death by putting a lot of flowers outside Winsor castle, the royal family to avoid public pressure goes on a vacation to Balmoral castle. Mean time the then prime minister Tony Blair explains the Queen about the situation and helps her understand that she has to come back to Winsor castle to give Diana her last rites. The strong minded character of the Queen, the wisdom and wittiness of Tony Blair in handling the public as well as the Queen is very well taken in the film. Helen Mirren who plays the Queen, was rightly given Academy for best actress, she deserves it.

School of Scoundrels - stars 3/5 - A guy who usually weeps and doesn't know how to fight back and stand for himself falls in love with a girl in his apartment. In desperate attempts to date her, he joins a "unofficial" self help training class to boost his self esteem. But the instructor of the training class desires the girl and plots all ways to take her. This guys, at first, looses to the instructor but finally proves to the girl the dirty mind of the instructor. The story initially starts as a real comedy, we laughed out like anything at the begining when he goes out for the training classes and how he mess up with things, but later when the fight starts between him and instructor, the movie turns to be serious. Okay quite entertaining, funfilled and the girl looks qute and pretty.
